Welcome to LUDS online! We hope you’re enjoying your summer holidays… and of course looking forward to debating when you get back to Leeds (or arrive for the first time) in September.

Preparations are ongoing at the moment, but check out the events page to see what’s been decided so far. If the usual fifteen minutes’ preparation time isn’t enough for you, then the full schedule of debates and motions is available should you wish to start your research (very) well in advance!

The debates marked as ‘training sessions’ will be based on several small groups: the audience will therefore be very few or non-existent, there’ll be support and advice given before and after the debate, and the emphasis will be on participation, with as many people as possible getting the chance to speak. On all other nights there will be just eight speakers, with the rest of the society looking on.
