Just the weekly circular to let you know Debating is on as usual on Thursday at 8pm in MB08 in the Parkinson Building.

Again, if you don’t know where that is yet, we’ll be meeting you on the Parkinson steps.

We’ll be carrying on with training, and as ever will be encouraging you all to speak, as well to come to the pub after;)

All Jim’s training notes are now available in our forum in the Members Only section. To access this, you have to first register on the forum. The password into the Members only section is ’sunset12.’ Only you privileged lot on our mailing list will have knowledge of this password, and we hope you find them useful.

Hey All,

Just the weekly update to remind you all that Debating takes place this week, same as every, on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 19TH, 8PM, PARKINSON BUILDING MB08,
(meeting on steps for those who are still unsure where the room is).

The training topic this week will be Opening Teams strategy.

For those not yet familair with the format for our meetings, I’ll be doing a short intro about what we do each week as well. We always welcome new members, you can join at any time, so this is just to ensure all members know what is going on.

This week, we are also celebrating our success at the UCL President’s Cup IV. HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to all who spoke, especially our team of Olive Young and Kasey McLoughlin, who reached the FINAL!!! Kasey also took BEST SPEAKER IN THE FINAL, and both Olive and Kasey can expect, as promised, a lovely surprise from me on Thursday;)

We will also be announcing details of the Newcastle and Durham IVs, so listen out, as it could be your chance of getting out there and achieving similar success!
(Plus, Newcastle is also a lot of fun;))

As last week, Debating is happening at 8pm in Parkinson MB08!

We are meeting at 8pm on the Pakinson Steps for anyone who still doesn’t know the room yet.

This week’s training is focusing on Structure. This is something that is not only crucial to debating, but will be very handy for all those annoying essays we have to write, (Trust me, it makes the whole essay process a lot easier and painless!)

For all those who have asked if it is still possible to join, we always welcome new members, and hope to see you on Thursday:)
